     Bob is a writer and speaker. He has written five books about advertising, each of which has been an Amazon #1 seller.

     Bob is one of the most sought-after international speakers on advertising and marketing.

 He has been invited to speak in 24 countries. In 2021 he was invited to speak to members of the British Parliament. In 2022 he was asked to speak to the European Commission. 
    Before leaving the advertising business, Bob had been the chief executive of two independent ad agencies and the US operation of an international agency.

     Bob's blog, The Ad Contrarian, was named one of the world's most influential marketing and advertising blogs by Business Insider.

     His commentary has appeared in the BBC World Service, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, MSNBC, The Financial Times, The Australian, New Zealand Public Broadcastng, Fox News, Sky News, Forbes, Canadian Public Broadcasting, and many other news outlets throughout the world.

     In 2012 Bob was selected "Ad Person of the Year" by the San Francisco Advertising Club.    

     He has served on the boards of the Advertising and Marketing International Network, the Foundation for Osteoporosis Research and Education, and the PGA Foundation of Northern California. He spent one year as Special Assistant to the Executive Director of the California Academy of Sciences.
